Shotts YMCA has been successful in raising funding for an extensive renovation and upgrading project of their premises at Rosehall Road, Shotts.
The funding was secured from a variety of sources, including £50,000 from Wren (Landfill), £25,000 from the Environmental Key Fund and third party funding of £5,500 from North Lanarkshire Council.
VANL's former funding officer Stuart Rennie was clsely involved in two more funding applications, helping the group to successfully receive a £10,000 grant from the Robertson Trust and a further £5,000 from Garfield Weston Foundation. DR Brown, General Secretary of Shotts YMCA said: "As a member of VANL, we greatly appreciate the assistance given."
The renovation will commence during April 2011, with a target date of late June 2011 for completion.
